Americans Simply Don't Do Sacrifice Anymore

When, oh when, are we going to realize that the best thing we can do for the environment is to cut back on reproducing! There are 7 billion people on this planet and that number is just going up. We have an infinite capacity for reproducing, but there are a finite amount of resources on this planet. I haven't seen anyone in the media mention population control as a way to help the environment, but it is an obvious way to help.

Who's Afraid of Rand Paul?

Better to have a Libertarian Republican than an evangelical Republican or a PC bleeding heart Democrat. It's time we elected people who believe in giving power back to us, the people, instead of trying to run our lives. And both sides are guilty of that, Republicans with religion and Democrats with political correctness. I'm done with both parties because it's time that common sense became the rule, not ideology.

Why Democrats suck…

To call the Democrats in Congress a bunch of spineless pussies, would be an insult to pussies. They have had the majority since Barack was elected, yet they haven't gotten anything worth a shit done. They and Barack need to take a page from Bush's handbook and just ram shit through like he did. To Hel with bipartisanship. The Republicans don't give a shit about pissing off Democrats, so it is time to give it right back. If they don't, they will get voted out this year and then nothing will get done. I can't stand the political correctness of the bleeding hearts, but between the two parties, I truly think the Democrats care more about the regular guy than the Republicans. I do have some issues with them though.

First of all is the aforementioned political correctness. Getting on Rahm Emmanuel's shit about using the word "retarded"?!? Really?!? Get the fuck over it. It's called the First Amendment and it doesn't say you don't have the right to be offended. Go on, read it, I promise you it doesn't say that.

Secondly, get over gun control. Gun control means using both hands and hitting your target. Until you can promise me that criminals will NEVER be able to get a gun, I'll keep mine, thank you. As long as there are people who want to harm me, or steal my stuff, I'll reserve the right to put a bullet in them. Dead criminals never harmed anyone.

Thirdly, if you can't get health care reform passed, you don't deserve to be in power. While you are bickering over stupid shit like abortion (get over it), productive, fully formed human beings are dying from lack of coverage. Get this done and get it done now. By the way, if you really want to solve this issue, make insurance and pharmaceutical companies have to be non-profit. The cost issue would vanish real fast then.

For shit's sake, grow a pair!!!

Why Republicans suck…

For the last year, I've been hearing conservatives blather on about President Obama being "socialist" and wanting to redistribute wealth, etc., ad nauseam. Here's a little newsflash for the brain deads that make up most of the Republican supporters. Republicans are fascists. They might as well replace the stars on our flag with swastikas. How can I say that, you ask? Easily. The definition of socialism is government controlling business, which is what they accuse Democrats of trying to do. Well, the definition of fascism is business running the government, which is what the Republicans are trying to achieve. Look at their total opposition to health care reform. Heaven forbid that their buddies that run the insurance and pharmaceutical companies and make obscene profits off of the suffering of people have to scale it back. Despite the blatant pandering to the megacorporations that have pretty much destroyed the American economy and are lowering our standard of living, the average blue collar person supports them even as they allow companies to send blue collar jobs overseas. They see Democrats as "elitists", which is a euphemism for educated, intelligent and thinking.

As an example of the rampant idiocy that makes up the GOP, look at the stupid images they use. Seriously, who is the fucktard who came up with the "Joker" Obama picture with "Socialism" as the caption? Does this moron know anything at all about Batman? Obviously not. The Joker is an anarchist, which is about as far from socialist as you can get. Try watching "The Dark Knight" at least once. The Republicans are so desperate to regain power that they will use any stupid tactic they can think of to get it back. Truth and facts won't get in their way! They are like small children who have their toys taken away and throw temper tantrums. Only the Republicans call them "Tea Parties". The Republicans are NOT looking out for the common man, unless you consider millionaires "common". They only support those who have the money to keep them in power, but the average idiot who supports them doesn't have the brain cells to see that.

Health care reform...

I'm going to preface this essay by saying that I am a card-carrying fan of Ayn Rand and an Objectivist. Now that I've said that, I will say that I am firmly on the side of health care reform. I believe it should also go much farther than the joke of a bill the Senate committee approved. We should have a single payer system like Europe and the rest of the civilized world. How can I say this, you ask? It's quite simple. No decent, moral human being should ever profit from the suffering of others. We have billionaires in this country who have done exactly that. Drug companies get rich by treating disease symptoms instead of curing the underlying illness. They create drugs to treat lifestyle issues, e.g. "erectile dysfunction", instead of working to cure real diseases like diabetes. NOTE: It is called impotence, not "erectile dysfunction". Due to the profit motive, there is no incentive to actually cure anything when just treating symptoms makes so much more money. Come on, how many Labor Day telethons has Jerry Lewis done and we still don't have a cure for Muscular Dystrophy? I'm not buying it. The profit motive needs to be completely removed from our health care system and it needs to be run by people who actually give a damn about helping other people. Sorry Ayn, but this is one area where altruism should reign. If you want to make money, build cars or computers, not hospitals.

While the system needs a complete overhaul, it isn't the only problem. A great deal of the problem lies with the American people themselves. We are truly among the laziest creatures to ever inhabit this planet. Instead of making the effort to do things to stay healthy, most people take the lazy way out. Instead of preparing healthy meals, we eat from boxes that have more chemicals than food in them. Instead of eating less and taking a walk, we want low-calorie, no-fat cookies so we can eat them by the box and not gain weight. It doesn't work and we end up ingesting even more chemicals. Then we want surgery to lose weight instead of making any real effort. That might require work and we can't have that, we're Americans! It's time to put down the chips and the fork and take some responsibility for your life. That goes for smokers and people who drink too much as well. Don't expect the health care system to clean up after the mess you have made out of your health. There is no money in that. There is money in treating obesity, lung cancer, cirrhosis and the numerous cancers caused by the chemicals in our food and water. The main reason that health care costs are rising is self-inflicted. Poor food choices, drinking and smoking are driving costs up. Stomach stapling costs way more than fixing a sprained ankle from walking. Think about that the next time you are wolfing down some Twinkies.

Goodbye George Carlin...

This past Sunday, June 22, 2008 was one of the darkest days I can remember. That was the day that George Carlin died. He was one of the greatest and smartest comedians who ever told a joke. I still remember listening to "Class Clown" on an 8-track player when I was 12 years old. In this day and age, his intelligence and wit will be greatly missed. Between he and Tim Russert, America lost two great minds in a week. This country simply can't handle losing many more people of intelligence. Carlin was the master of making the mundane funny and making the average idiot American squirm by throwing all their bullshit right in their face. He truly didn't care what people thought of him, and I will have the utmost respect for him just for that alone. He will be sorely missed, especially with the way this country is going now.

Carlin always thought the human race was fucked and doomed, and with his death, we are a little bit closer to being just that.

You reap what you sow...

As I sit here watching CNN discuss the buyout of Bear Stearns by JP Morgan, I can't help but wonder when the idiots running financial companies will ever learn. Going back to the S&L debacle of the 80s, time after time has shown that questionable financial practices will always blow up in your face. Really, is it any surprise to anyone that we are in the financial situation going on now when you look at what was done over the past few years? You give someone who makes $40,000 a year a mortgage for a $500,000 home and you wonder why the foreclosure rate is sky high? This isn't rocket science, people. All the "creative" financing, accounting and other unethical things going on have given us the economy that we deserve. Am I the only person in this country who sees that we have an economy based on nothing? How many corporations in this company actually make money producing something you can hold in your hand? Not many. Credit card companies are making money hand over fist by doing nothing! I recently heard that some credit cards are now charging a fee for paying off your balance!!! What the fuck is up with that?!? It is NOT a good business practice to make money by fucking over your customers by nickel and diming them to death. If I had a credit card that pulled that with me, I'd close that account as soon as it was paid off. I'd make sure to pay it off first though, because now they have a monthly "maintenance fee" for closed accounts that have a balance. We get charged overdraft fees when you bounce a check, even though that means you don't have any money and those charges are pushing $40 now! This is ridiculous due to the fact that technology has made financial instutions almost fully automated, so it's not like it actually costs them money if you bounce a check. All these bullshit fees are for one purpose, and one purpose only, to make the executives at these companies richer. That's all. We've sent most of our manufacturing overseas, and we are left with an economy that is based on money being passed back and forth with nothing of value exchanged. Since this kind of economic exchange is fundamentally limited, corporations have to come up with other ways of getting our money without giving us anything in return. Our economy, for years, has been based on consumer spending, driven by credit. Now people are maxed out and the credit is drying up. Guess what that means? Yup, economic collapse. And since the rest of the world's economy is based on Americans buying their stuff, everyone is screwed. We asked for it, we got it, and now it's time to pay for it. Except there is nothing to pay with. Welcome to the new reality.

Remember Myanmar...

The next time you're bitching about waiting in line at Wal-Mart, remember what is going on in Myanmar. I'm watching video on CNN showing government troops and agents beating people for the crime of wanting freedom. We have it here, for the moment, and take it completely for granted. When I think of how Americans behave now and then see video like that, it infuriates me. We take everything for granted, we don't bat an eye when Bush destroys habeus corpus and the 4th amendment and starts an illegal and unjustified war. As long as we can get our hands on more shit, we don't care what happens in the world. Wake up morons!!! There's more to life than your fucking iPhone and XBox. There are still places where people have to live in fear from their government and we'll be next if your apathy continues. There isn't much our government could do to help Myanmar since our military is bogged down in Iraq. Not that I think they would do much anyway, since there isn't oil there. However, we could send weapons to the pro-Democracy people and let them fight for their freedom, but I doubt our government has the stones to even do that. Bush likes to talk about spreading freedom and Democracy, but it's just paying lip service. Here's a chance to really help people who really want freedom, but I'm not holding my breath for Bush to step up. By the way, I've already sent him an e-mail about this, what have you done?

Skaal,
